Obituary of Helen May Teed
Mrs. Helen May Teed, 97, passed away at 10:20 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter in Titusville. She had been a resident there for the past several years.
Mrs. Teed was born on February 18, 1916, in Utica to the late Richard B. and Ida Belle Flickner Hedglin.
During World War II she was employed as a machine operator at Perry St. Forge.
Helen attended church services at the former Salvation Army.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her daughter and grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Dorothy DeMarches and her husband Emanuel Jr. of Titusville; five grandchildren, Deborah Smith and husband Merle of Titusville, Brenda DeMarches of Oil City, Bonnie DeMarches, John DeMarches and Michael DeMarches all of Titusville; six great grandchildren, David Watson, Travis DeMarches and wife Kelly, Dustin McWilliams, Kasie DeMarches, John Thomas DeMarches, Jr, Kayla Sue DeMarches; a great great-granddaughter, Megan DeMarches and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Emanuel DeMarches III; a great granddaughter, Kayla Sue DeMarches; a daughter, Mildred Teed who died in infancy; a brother, Edward Hedglin; and five sisters, Catherine Wagner, Amelia Wagner, Clara Brown, Mary Robb and Alfreda Rodgers.
No calling hours will be observed.
A private interment will be conducted for the family at the Lupher Cemetery in Utica.
