Obituary of Ralph A. Wolfkiel
Ralph A. Wolfkiel, Sr., 65, of Main Street, Hydetown, passed away Monday morning, January 20, 2014, unexpectedly at his home.
Ralph was born in Titusville on July 21, 1948 to Edwin F. Wolfkiel, Sr. and the late Patricia Sterling Wolfkiel.
He graduated from Titusville High School in 1967. Ralph married Diane Harvey on September 26, 1970 in Hydetown.
Ralph was part owner in West Central Auto with his son Curtis Wolfkiel. He had also been employed at the former Cytemp Specialty Steel Corp. and Sylvan Equipment.
Ralph enjoyed hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Diane; his father, Edwin F. Wolfkiel, Sr. of Enterprise; his three sons, Ryan Wolfkiel and wife Julie of Hydetown, Ralph A. Wolfkiel, Jr. and wife Stephanie of Enterprise, and Curtis Wolfkiel of Enterprise; five brothers, Scott Wolfkiel of Tidioute, Mike Cherry and wife Debbie of Enterprise, Donald Cherry and wife Bean of Grand Valley, Bill Cherry and wife Tina of Titusville, and Jim Cherry of Pleasantville; two sisters, Sandy Hepler and husband Tom of Hydetown, and Judy Thompson and husband Rick of Titusville; eight grandchildren, Kayden, Landen, Sawyer, Tanner, Harper, Haley, Brodie, and Cole Wolfkiel; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Ralph was preceded in death by his step-mother, Betty Cherry Wolfkiel; and two brothers, John Wolfkiel, and Edwin F. Wolfkiel, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jeff Sterling, pastor of the Hydetown Baptist Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Hydetown Volunteer Fire Department, 12666 Main St. Titusville, PA 16354.
