Obituary of Mildred T. Rogers
Mrs. Mildred T. Rogers, 90, originally from Georgetown, DE, died at 2:45 PM Friday, September 3, 2010 at Country Acres Personal Care Home in Titusville where she was currently residing.
Mildred was born on August 24, 1920 at Georgetown, DE, a daughter of the late Arthur and Ella Owens Tyndall. She was married to John S. Rogers who preceded her in death.
Mildred was a graduate of Georgetown High School, class of 1938. She had worked as a secretary at ACME Markets, Layton&Layton Cold Storage Warehouse, and as head bookkeeper at Farmers Bank of Delaware for 27 years until her retirement on March 11, 1981.
Mildred loved working in the garden, watching people, reading, doing cross stitch, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kenneth W. Rogers, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Georgetown, DE, and Julia Karen Henderson and her husband Dale of Titusville, PA; four grandchildren, Kenneth W. Rogers, Jr. and his wife Amanda of Georgetown, DE, Kimberly Ann LeKites and her husband Jamie of Princess Anne, MD, Jessica Lee and her husband Todd of Oil City, and Tyler Henderson and his fiancée Kristina Sweitzer of Titusville, PA; six great grandchildren, Cole Kenneth Rogers, Caleb Avery Rogers, Micheal Todd Marvin, Ryan Donald Lee, Benjamin Scott Lee, and Lucas John Henderson; and three step great grandchildren, Wyatt LeKites, Kyle Sweitzer, and Lindsay Sweitzer.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 7 to 9 PM.
Further visitation will be held at the Watson Funeral Home 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE on Tuesday, Sept. 7th from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville, DE.
The family asks that memorials may be made to any local Hospice organization.
