Obituary of Mary S. Locke
Mary S. Locke, 78, of 44091 Buells Corners Rd. Spartansburg, died at 7:35 PM on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Rouse Home in Youngsville. She had been a resident there for the past few years.
Mary was born on October 1, 1935, in Sault Saint Marie, MI to the late Adolf and Mary Watchorn Samuels. She married Paul J. Locke on October 23, 1956 in Centerville.
She attended Riley High School in South Bend, IN.
Mary was a homemaker and loved taking care of her husband, raising her daughters and being with her grandchildren.
She was an Elder in the tribe of the Chippewa Indians of Sault Saint Marie, MI.
Mary enjoyed working with ceramics, cooking, keeping her house meticulous and playing games with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Locke is survived by her husband Paul of Spartansburg; three daughters, Vicki Nickerson and husband Bob of Corry, Pam Hochstetler and husband Bill of Spartansburg, Paula Wakeley and husband Bill of Spartansburg; nine grandchildren, Gwen Nagel of Clymer, NY, Joe Nickerson and wife Jennifer of Corry, Cassie Barton of Corry, John Nickerson and wife Kasie of Corry, Shane Hochstetler and wife Kelly or Exeter, NH, Sally Jo Peterson and husband Andrew of Pittsburgh, Stephen Hochstetler and wife Tina of Gaithersburg, MD, Brianna Ongley of Spartansburg, Dustin Wakeley of McKean; fourteen great grandchildren, Bobby, LynnDee, Rhett, Hanna, Owen, Landon, Kaitlynn, Kody, Delaney, Rylee, Brody, Gabriella, William, Emma and four on the way; two sisters, Felicia of South Bend, IN, Arilla of Bradenton, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by a grandson Erik Ongley; three sisters, Betty, Gwen, and Barb; and one brother Sam.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service from the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:30 PM with her nephew Rick Reagle, officiating.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery.
