Obituary of Margie W. Steadman
Margie W. Steadman, 85, formerly of Townville, passed away Monday afternoon February 17, 2014 at the Crawford County Care Center.
Margie was born on July 11, 1928 at Harborcreek, PA, a daughter of the late Fred and Twila Alcorn Smith.
She was married to Nial L. Parker who preceded her in death. She later married Clyde “Mike” Steadman. He preceded her in death in 2011.
Margie had been employed at Erie County Plastics as a machine operator and finisher. She retired in 1993 after 24 years of employment.
Margie was a member of the Townville Baptist Church where she was baptized in 2007. She enjoyed baking, cooking, family reunions, and traveling. She loved being with her children and grandchildren.
Margie is survived by a son, David L. Parker and wife Karen of Centerville; a daughter, Sandra L. Schaefer and husband Buster of Union City; a daughter-in-law, Jane Parker of Cochranton; two step-sons, Bill Steadman and wife Dorothy of Townville, Louis L. Steadman and wife Marilyn of Clintonville; a son-in-law, Brad Bossard of Titusville; 17 grandchildren, Bonnie Sue Gibbs and husband Scott, John Parker and wife Sheri, Jeremiah Parker, James Parker and wife Bridget, Julie Hazeltine and husband Paul, Melanie Derwinis and husband Steve, Christa Battin, Chelby Robinson and husband Tim, Joseph Harouff and wife Judy, Leslie Rankin, Michael Steadman and wife Mele`, Michelle McFadden and husband Scott, Laura Priester and husband Randy, Diane Weldon and husband Bill, Gail Steadman, Kaili Hinkson and Sara Hinkson; 29 great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Smith and Richard Smith, both of Erie, and Fredrick Smith of Monroeville; two sisters, Helen Ohmes of Bloomington, Illinois, and Dorothy Armel of Sugarland, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Parker and Robert N. Parker; a daughter, Connie S. Bossard; a step-daughter, Sarah Conley; four brothers, Donald, Theodore, Wilbur, and Francis Smith; and a sister, Arlene Miller.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be held on Friday from 10 AM to 11AM at the Townville Baptist Church at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Pastor James Riley, officiating.
Interment will be in Kinglsey Cemetery in Townville.
