Obituary of William D. Brittain

Mr. William D. Brittain, 47, of 22462 Shamburg Rd., Pleasantville died at 8:05 AM on Sunday, February 23, 2014, at his residence. William was born on May 6, 1966 in Bradford to the late Ivan and Phyllis Zeigler Brittain. He married Sharon Paloncy on May 29, 1992 in Titusville. He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1985, and served in the US Marine Corp. for a year and a half. William was most recently employed as a mechanic with Torpedo Specialty Wire in Pittsfield. He was a member of the Cleo J. Ross Post 368, the Moose Club and PNA all in Titusville. William enjoyed hunting, working on automobiles and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Sharon Brittain of Pleasantville; two children, William Brittain and Tina Brittain of Pleasantville; a brother, Rick Farley and wife Cheryl of Greensburg; two sisters, Debbie Ward and husband Hiram of Titusville, Marti Krouse and husband Bill of Delaware; father-in-law, Richard Kinnear of Titusville; sisters-in-law, Heather Brittain of Pleasantville, Linda Buck of Waterford, Tina Knapp of Titusville, Melissa Morse and husband Courtney of Warren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Patrick Brittain, Glenn Buck; mother-in-law, Deanna Kinnear; and a brother-in-law, Daniel Knapp. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Gregory Cox, officiating.
