Obituary of Lloyd W. Shontz

Mr. Lloyd W. “Bud” Shontz, Jr., 49, of 3007 Wallaceville Rd., Titusville died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Shontz was born on January 18, 1965, in Titusville to Margaret Hatcher Shontz and the late Lloyd W. Shontz, Sr. He was a graduate of Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Academy in 1983. Bud was formerly employed as a mechanic with S & S Auto. He also owned and operated Bud’s Auto Repair for 5 years while also working for J & J Trucking. He attended the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Church, a member of the Chapmanville Vol. Fire Dept. and Titusville Sportsman’s Club. Bud was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on automobile engines, and racing his #65 car (Shontz Racing) at Tri-City Speedway. He especially loved to be the life of the party surrounded by his family. Mr. Shontz is survived by his mother, Margaret Shontz of Hydetown; two sons, Scott Shontz of Franklin, Joshua Shontz of Emlenton; a granddaughter, Alyssa Shontz; three brothers, Tommy Lee Shontz and wife Tina of Surprise, AZ, John Shontz of Titusville, Paul Shontz and wife Rachael of Titusville; seven sisters, Grace Dingle of Meadville, Dolly Shontz of Hydetown, Doris Graham and husband Tim of Titusville, Naomi Shontz and companion Robert Waide of Auburndale, FL., Pauline Young and husband Russell of New Castle, Vanessa Shontz of Meadville, Betty Shontz of Franklin and numerous niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd W. Shontz, Sr.; a brother, Charles E. Shontz; and a sister, Violet Ann Shontz. Friends may call at the Wesleyan Methodist Church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with the service to follow conducted by Rev. Robert Luther, Rev. Sheridan Rainey and Rev. Dale Hallaway, officiating. Interment will be in Diamond Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Titusville Wesleyan Methodist Academy, 12138 Church Run Rd., Titusville, PA 16354.
