Obituary of Ruth H. Alcorn
Mrs. Ruth H. Alcorn, 82, formerly of 411 Allen St., Titusville and a current resident of Linse Lane in McKean died at 2:30 AM on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Golden LivingCenter-Walnut Creek in Erie.
Mrs. Alcorn was born on April 13, 1928 in Oil City to the late Sydney A. and Vesta I. Russell Hookins.
She was a graduate of Oil City High School and Grove City College.
Mrs. Alcorn was formerly employed as a lab tech and respiratory therapist with the Titusville Area Hospital.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Acacia Chapter #30 O.E.S., and belong to the Tri-Boro Senior Center in Fairview.
Mrs. Alcorn loved painting, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing computer games.
She is survived by a daughter, Amy Jo Alcorn of Erie and her granddaughter, Chelcie Ruth Alcorn. Other family members include Sharon Ann Pfeifer and her husband Todd and their children Matt and Megan Pfeifer of Meadville.
Mrs. Alcorn was preceded in death by two husbands, James Huber and Joe C. Alcorn, Jr.; a daughter, LeeAnne Alcorn; and a sister, Jean Smith.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted from the First Presbyterian Church 216 N. Franklin St., Titusville on Friday at 11:00 AM with Dr. Barry E. Cressman officiating.
Interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery.
