Obituary of John J. Walsh
John J. Walsh, 82, of 317 W. Elm St. Titusville, passed away Friday morning March 21, 2014 at his residence.
John was born on February 23, 1932 at Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late John and Francis Walchol Walsh. He was married to Anna Marie Kaslewicz on June 16, 1956 in Pittsburgh. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2010.
John was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army.
He had been employed by the Port Authority of Allegheny County for over 30 years until his retirement.
John had attended St. Titus Church. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan which included the Steelers and Penguins. He enjoyed building model cars and planes.
He is survived by four children, Jack Walsh and wife Jacqueline of Mechanicsburg, Erick Walsh and wife Anita of Pittsburgh, Madonna Walsh of Titusville, and Rosie Aul of Centerville; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Scott Walsh; a granddaughter, Heather Rose Aul; and a son-in-law, Matt Aul.
No public viewing will be observed. Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard as celebrant.
Full military rites will be conducted by officers and members of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.
The family asks that memorials be made to Asera Care Hospice 1600 Peninsula Dr. Suite 14 Erie, PA 16505. John had briefly dealt with a cancer issue years ago and would also like donations to be made to UPMC Cancer Center 100 Fairfield Dr. Seneca, PA 16346.
