Obituary of David William Sarber II
David William Sarber II was born on June 27, 1991 in Geneva, NY and died in a boating accident on October 17, 2009.
He lived at home with his parents, David and Laura Sarber, and his three sisters, Colleen, Hannah, and Emily. His grandparents are William and Louise Sarber of Cooperstown, and Loren and Carol Kempa of Bent Mountain, VA. He was preceded in death by both sets of maternal and paternal great-grandparents. David II is survived by several aunts and uncles: John and Karen MacDonald of Watertown, SD; Jonathan Sarber of Cooperstown; Carl and Cheryl Kempa of Bent Mountain, VA; Bob and Joanna Kempa of Bent Mountain, VA; Clifford and Cynthia Kempa of Galax, VA; Lynda and David Cope of Pearisburg, VA; Christopher and Deanna Kempa of Titusville; 19 cousins, and a very special friend, Johanna Hebner, of Franklin.
David II was a homeschooler who graduated from high school on June 12, 2009. He was presently enrolled as a freshman at the Evangelical Wesleyan Bible College.
David II was a member of the Summit Evangelical Wesleyan Church. He was a committed Christian whose great desire was to be used by God. He had a vision for the work of God and went on a mission’s trip to Bloodvein, Manitoba during July/August 2009.
David II loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and sportsman. He was a prankster and loved a good practical joke. He enjoyed times spent with his many friends and large extended family. David II was a hard worker, who worked for T.J. Construction Company, and other construction projects.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Titusville on Wednesday at 10:30 AM with his uncle Rev. John MacDonald of the Watertown Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Watertown, SD and Rev. Tim Yauger of the Summit Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Cooperstown, officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
The family requests that in place of flowers, donations be made towards a memorial scholarship fund for the Evangelical Wesleyan Bible College c/o his father, David Sarber 6722 E. Wayne Rd., Cooperstown, PA 16317.
