Obituary of Lillian Barker Kerr

Mrs. Lillian Barker Kerr of 8935 Cairo Lane Port Richey, FLA, beloved matriarch of her family, died on her 93rd birthday Tuesday evening, September 14, 2010 at Marliere Care Center in New Port Richey, FLA. Lillian was born on September 14, 1917 in Titusville, PA, a daughter of the late Herbert and Maud Kelly Barker. She was married to Harold M. Barker on June 15, 1935. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1973. In 1975, she married Elmer Kerr who preceded her in death in June of 1976. Lil was an avid bingo player and enjoyed finding a good bargain, repairing old clocks, and decorating her home for the holidays. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she would often redecorate her tree three or four times during the season. She is survived by her five children; Barbara E. Barker of Port Richey, FLA, Ronald L. Barker and wife Millie of Homosassa, FLA, Vernon L. Barker and wife Florence of Titusville, Chet M. Barker and wife Mary of Titusville, and Marlene McMunn and husband Pat of Spring Hill, FLA; 14 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Barker; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Paul Barker; brothers, Merle, Herman, Herbert “Bus”, Lawrence, and Robert Barker; and sisters, Violet “Toots” Myers, Mabel Latshaw, and Maude Biltz. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Monday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. William French of St. James Memorial Episcopal Church in Titusville, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Titusville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to a Hospice organization of one’s choice. FLOWERS
