Obituary of Frank M. Bennett
Frank M. Bennett, 85, of 1246 Trout Run Rd. Titusville, went home peacefully to be with
his Lord and Savior and his loving wife Blanche, at 2:40 AM Wednesday at his daughter’s residence following a lengthy illness.
Frank was born on March 17, 1929 in Titusville, a son of the late George and Minnie Dunkle Mitchelle. He was married to Blanche L. Collingwood on January 22, 1949 in Franklin. She preceded him in death on March 1, 1999.
Frank had attended a one room school house on Spring Creek Road. He had also attended Bible School at Transfer, PA.
He had been employed at the former Struthers Wells Corp. both in Titusville and Warren as a welder for 26 years until his retirement in 1993. He was noted in Forbes Magazine as one the world’s top ten welders.
Frank was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where he had served as Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, and doing home visitations. He was also involved with prison ministry and was always praying for others.
Frank enjoyed spending time with his family; playing with his grandchildren; gardening; playing tricks on others; hunting, fishing, baseball, and was an avid Steelers fan.
He was a volunteer at the Titusville Area Hospital and at the Titusville Toy Shop.
He is survived by the following children; Debbie O’Brien and husband Dan of Belington, WV, Paulette Addicott and husband Rodney of Sharpsville, Rev. David Bennett and wife Joy of Lewistown, Jeannine Holes and husband Chris of Titusville, and Bruce Bennett and wife Donna of Greenville; grandchildren, Jeremy Holes, Kari Holes Taylor and husband Daniel, all of Seattle, WA, Taylynne Holes of Titusville, Rodney Addicott, Jr. and wife Janelle of Sharon, Julie Addicott Young and husband Mark of Hermitage, Brittany Bennett and Erika Bennett, both of Greenville, Chet O’Brien and wife Chrissy, Josh O’Brien, and Aaron O’Brien, all of Belington, WV, Chad Bennett of Canandaigua, NY, Brad Bennett and wife Sarah of Evansdale, and Kyle Bennett and wife Andrea of Hovoken, NJ; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris O’Brien.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be held on Saturday at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church 520 W. Central Avenue from 1:00 to 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Leroy Learn, officiating.
Interment will be in Breedtown Cemetery.
