Obituary of Addie L. Butcher
Mrs. Addie Lamenskie Butcher, 89, formerly of Titusville, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Altenheim Nursing Home in Strongsville, OH where she had been a resident for the past two years and nine months.
Mrs. Butcher was born on November 13, 1924 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Jacob and Olive Strawbridge Lamenskie. She was married to Robert “Jake” Butcher on May 26, 1949 at St. Titus Church. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Mrs. Butcher was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1942. She was a former member of St. Titus Church and, more recently, a member of Holy Family Church in Parma, Ohio where she was an active parishioner and member of the Altar and Rosary Society for over three decades. Most importantly, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by four sons; Stephen J. Butcher and wife Kathy of Gambrills, MD, Samuel V. Butcher and wife Gloria of N. Royalton, OH, Richard C. Butcher and wife Rhonda of Pflugerville, TX, and Daniel F. Butcher and wife Jean of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Lamenskie of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, James, John, and Joseph Lamenskie, an infant brother; and a sister, Anna Fiely.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, on Monday April 7th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
