Obituary of Charlotte L. Brown
Charlotte L. Brown, 86, a resident of Country Acres Personal Care Home and formerly of Centerville, passed away Sunday evening April 13, 2014 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
Charlotte was born on April 27, 1927 at Corry, PA, a daughter of the late John and Arlene Rogers Stanbro. She was married to Kenneth Brown on Aug. 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 25, 2003.
Charlotte was a graduate of Spartansburg High School, class of 1945. She had been employed as a nurse’s aid for over 10 years at the Titusville Area Hospital.
She was a member of the Centerville United Methodist Church; a member of the Spartansburg Seniors; and enjoyed crocheting, walking, and square dancing with her husband.
Charlotte is survived by a son, Dana L. Brown of Central, Alaska and Karen E. Jacobs and husband John of Montgomery, Alabama; two grandchildren, Jason Jacobs and wife Jamie of Omaha, NE and Krystal Jacobs of Montgomery, AL; a great grandson, Landon Jacobs; two brothers, Donald R. Stanbro and wife Marian of Pittsfield, and Clyde A. Ross and wife Rose Marie of Corry; sisters-in-law, Wanda Stanbro of Spartansburg, Inez Stanbro of Clymer, NY, and Anne Stanbro of Columbus, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two children, Ronald Keith Brown and Kenneth Lee Brown; and three brothers, Sherman L. Stanbro, Richard L.Stanbro and John E. “Jack” Stanbro.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The funeral service will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Barry Weyant, pastor of the Centerville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Sanford Cemetery.
