Obituary of Judith Ann Knapp

Mrs. Judith Ann Knapp, 73, passed away at 5:42 AM on Thursday, May 01, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter in Titusville surrounded by her loving children. She had been a resident there since October 2, 2012. Mrs. Knapp was born on December 22, 1940, at Oil City to the late James and Sara Boyles Nichols. She attended Titusville Area Schools. Judith was formerly employed by the Titusville Area Hospital for 10 years in the housekeeping department. She attended the Breedtown Baptist Church. Judith enjoyed playing cards with her close friends Eva Carlson and Aunt Virginia, listening to music, but especially taking care of her family and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by six children, Vickie Carter and husband Greg of Cooperstown, Treva Graham and husband Scott of Diamond, Richard Riddle and companion Jodi Burlingame of Meadville, William Riddle and wife Theresa of Guys Mills, Jodi Upchurch and husband Curtis of Titusville, Shawn Knapp and wife Kelly of Centerville; 14 grandchildren, Alicia Zabelsky and companion Jeff Gadley, Justin Carter and wife Jodi, Jennifer Confer and husband Travis, Stephen Graham and companion Courtney Carey, Travis Riddle and wife Jenny, Krista Riddle, Amanda Kerr and husband Jeffrey, Ryan Riddle and wife Krystal, Taylor Riddle and fiancé Taven Coutu, Hope Riddle, Alyssa Willis and husband Andy, Chase Upchurch, Dustin Knapp and Ian Knapp; 7 great grandchildren, Elizabeth Zabelsky, Aaron Zabelsky, Gage Riddle, Brenden Riddle, Alexis Kerr, Logan Riddle, Addisyn Riddle; 3 brothers, Thomas Nichols and wife Sharon of Titusville, Boyd Nichols and wife Linda of Florida, Gary Nichols of Saegertown; 2 sisters, Delores Foster and husband Butch of Oil City, Connie Burnside of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Judith was preceded in death by her first husband Richard Riddle who died in December of 1971; her second husband, Donald L. Knapp, Sr. whom she married on May 27, 1972 in Hydetown. He died on June 1, 1980; a granddaughter, Rachael Graham; and a sister, Mildred Saxton. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Sunday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gary Kinnear, officiating. Interment will be in Chapmanville Cemetery.
