Obituary of Barbra Ann Brown Gibson

Mrs. Barbra Ann Brown Gibson, 72, of 313 E. Walnut St. Titusville, died Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Barbra was born on Feb. 11, 1937 at Guitonville, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Haslett Brown. She was married to Marvin “Gib” Gibson on Sept. 2, 1969 at Laurel, MD. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1990. Barbra was a graduate of the Tionesta High School, class of 1955 and had attended Erie Business College. She also earned her certificate in transactional analysis. She had worked at the Forest Press in Tionesta; at Galloway Publishing in New Jersey; and sold life insurance for Western and Southern Insurance Company. She obtained her realtors license and worked for Century 21 in Titusville. She and her husband owned Marvin’s Gardens rental properties in Titusville for a number of years. She also helped found the Titusville Area Landlords Association. Barbra was a member of the Titusville First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed writing poetry and playing the piano. While in high school, she was a member of the cheerleading squad. Barbra is survived by a son, Edward Gibson and his wife Hiangkie of Laguna Beach, CA; two daughters, Debra Cameron and her husband James of Washington, DC, and Dana Gibson of Hollywood, CA; a step-daughter, Brenda Gibson Randazzo and her husband Jay of Daytona Beach, FLA; 6 grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Avins of High Point, NC and Brenda Carmen of Rock Island, IL; two nieces and one nephew. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Thursday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Friday at 11:00 AM with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church. FLOWERS
