Obituary of Paul E. Hanna

Mr. Paul E. Hanna, Sr., 75, of 208 W. State St., Pleasantville died at 6:37 AM on Sunday, September 19, 2010 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Mr. Hanna was born on Feb. 13, 1935 in Oil City to the late Jesse and Virginia Hanna. He married Emma Louise Kurschinske on Dec. 23, 1966. Mrs. Hanna preceded him in death on May 12, 1997. He was a graduate of Cranberry-Pine Grove Joint High School, class of 1953. Mr. Hanna served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was formerly employed in the finishing dept. for 27 years at Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. He retired in 1993. He then went to work as a security guard for 5 five years with Reinhardt Security. Mr. Hanna was a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, Francis B. Pritchard Post 464 VFW, and the Oil City Moose Club #78. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Mr. Hanna is survived by three sons, Brian Hanna and family of Oil City, Norman Hanna and family of PA, Paul E. Hanna, Jr. and wife Catherine of Hydetown; two step-sons, Stephen Hahn of CA, Ronald Joe Hahn of Dempseytown; four step-daughters, Gail Kulling of Seneca, Tina Hathaway of Titusville, Linda Mielke of New Castle, and Kimberly Strain of Titusville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and three sisters, Nancy Ewing of Pleasantville, Bonnie Maynard of Erie, and Judy Carbaugh of Fryburg. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and John Hanna. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Thursday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jerry Alsdorf of the Mt. Pleasant Chapel officiating. Interment will be in the Heckathorn Cemetery. FLOWERS
