Obituary of Clair A. Kuberry

Clair A. Kuberry, 78, of 42891 Russell Rd. Centerville, passed away Friday morning June 6, 2014 at his home. Clair was born on September 8, 1935 in Titusville, a son of the late Charles and Alberta See Kuberry. He was married to Elsie Looney who preceded him in death in 1993. He later married Mary Lewis on Sept. 10, 1993 at Battle Creek, Mich. Clair was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the US Air Force. He had been self employed as a mechanic for many years and owned Kuberry’s Garage. He had previously worked for the Erie Lackawana Railroad and for True Temper in Union City. Clair was a former member of both the American Legion and VFW in Union City. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, and woodworking. He was also a member of the Central CB Association in Union City. He is survived by his wife of Centerville; six sons, James Kuberry and wife Stacey of Centerville, Charles Kuberry and wife Judy of Corry, Clair “Ben” Kuberry and Randy Kuberry of Canadohta Lake, Scott Kuberry of Canadohta Lake and his wife Heather of Union City, and Timothy Kuberry and wife Cammy of Canadohta Lake; a daughter, Tina Proper and her husband Jordan of Centerville; step-children, Andrew Orbis and wife Karen of Madison, OH, Christine White of Corry and her husband Tom of South Carolina, Tammy Orbis of Corry, and Heather Kuberry of Union City; numerous grandchildren; several great grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Kuberry and wife Carol of Pleasantville, Dennis Kuberry and wife Gloria of Centerville, and Charles Kuberry and wife Joyce of Centerville; a sister, Nancy Emerson of Venice, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brenda Kuberry. No public calling hours will be observed. Friends may attend a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Chapel with Rev. Jerry Alsdorf, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with full military rites. The family asks that memorials be made to any local veteran’s organization.
