Obituary of Kathleen J. Beers

Mrs. Kathleen J. Beers, 70, of 423 W. Main Street Titusville, died at 11:55 AM Monday, October 26, 2009 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Mrs. Beers was born on June 18, 1939 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Thomas “Merle” Foster and Hazel Louise Ellis Foster. She was married to Russell Ward Beers, Sr. on Oct. 4, 1958 at Frewsburg, NY. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1995. Mrs. Beers was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1957. She had last been employed at the Titusville Area Hospital in medical transcription. She had also been employed at the Titusville Herald and the former Sears catalog store in Titusville. Mrs. Beers was a former member of the Tryonville United Methodist Church and had attended Faith Community Church. She was an ordained minister; a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary; enjoyed crocheting, cross word puzzles, listening to southern gospel music and collecting angels. She is survived by the following children; Russell Ward Beers, Jr. and his wife Debbie, David J. Beers and wife Susan, Katherine J. “Kitty” Freeze, Timothy A. Beers and wife Martha, all of Titusville, and Robbie L. Beers and companion Robert Brandt of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia F. “Patsy” Heinen and husband Delmar of Mercer; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leigh Ann Marie Barker on Aug. 15, 2008. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary Kinnear of the Breedtown Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Newton Cemetery, Eldred Twp., Warren County. The family asks that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice. FLOWERS
