Obituary of John H. Hamilton
John H. Hamilton, 85, of Mt. Dora, FL, formerly of Titusville, passed away Dec. 29, 2013 in Florida.
John was born on March 16, 1928 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late John and Margaret Hunter Hamilton. He was married to Lillian Nicoletti of Brooklyn, NY on April 10, 1947.
John was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy. He entered the service on March 21, 1946 at Erie and was honorably discharged on January 22, 1948.
John had been employed at the former Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. in Titusville for 30 years.
He was a member of St. Titus Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 492. He loved boating, water skiing, and camping at Tionesta Dam. He also enjoyed helping others in need and repairing bicycles.
John is survived by his wife of Mt. Dora, FL; three children, John Hamilton, Jr. and wife Linda of Fairview, Michael Hamilton and wife Melinda of Jessup, MD, and Michele Deutsch and husband Robert of Waukesha, WI; 6 grandchildren, Nicole Tracy, Meaghan Tracy McCormick, Dennis Tracy, John Hamilton III, Robert “Hobbes” Deutsch, Jr., and Petra Deutsch Kruzel; and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, infant Laura Susan Hamilton and Patricia Ann Tracy Deppen; a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret Miller and her husband Ronald; and two half-sisters, Ann Hamilton and Margaret Yetter.
Friends may call at St. Titus Church on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Fr. Walter E. Packard as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
