Obituary of Michael K. Tracey

Michael K. “Mike” Tracey, 70, of Titusville, passed away Monday morning June 30, 2014 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Mike was born on May 18, 1944 in Titusville, a son of the late Kenneth and Kathryn “Kay” Cartney Tracey. He was married to Carla Crocker on July 29, 1967 in Titusville. Mike was a graduate of St. Walburga School, class of 1958 and a graduate of St. Joseph Academy High School, class of 1962. Mike was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served in the US Army. He entered the service on April 30, 1963 at Cleveland, OH. He served as a crane operator with Company B 84th Engineer Battalion. He was honorably discharged on April 21, 1966 at Oakland, CA. Mike had been employed at Hasbrouck Sand and Gravel for over 30 years as a truck driver until his retirement in 2004. He had also delivered milk for the former Steers Dairy for a number of years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; going to the races at Tri-City Speedway; wintering with his wife in Florida; watching TV; his pet dogs; and his many toys which included his four wheeler, lawn mowers, and motorcycle. Mike is survived by his wife of Titusville; three children, Kenneth Dean Tracey and wife Cricket of Titusville, William Lewis Tracey and wife Elizabeth of Pittsburgh, and Teresa Tracey Zdarko and husband Richard of Titusville; a son-in-law, Mark Carson of Titusville; 11 grandchildren, Olivia, Alexandria, and Liam Tracey, Trenton, Micaela, Ethan, and McKenna Zdarko, Brandon and Abby Carson, Isaac Wencil and wife Jolee, and Kathryn Wencil; a brother, Mark Tracey and wife Susan of Titusville; two sisters, Mary Cauvel and husband Keith of Erie, and Elaine Dymond and husband Jake of New Brighton; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee Tracey Carson; and a sister, Aileen Tracey. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Fr. Matthew Ruyechan of St. Venantius Church in Rouseville, officiating. Interment will be in Troy Center Cemetery.
