Obituary of Debra Kaye Tarr

Debra Kaye Tarr, 58, of 102 N. Dillon Dr. Titusville, died Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Titusville Area Hospital. Debra was born on August 6, 1952 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Thomas and Alma Pratt Sterner. She was married to Don Tarr, Jr. on July 18, 1981 at the Troy Center Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA. She was first employed as a supervisor at 1st American Bank of Virginia. After moving to Titusville, she worked at Cross Creek Resort as a cook. She later worked as head cook at the former Colonel Drake Hotel, Rustic Inn, and Marion’s Restaurant. Debra loved flower gardening, reading, animals, and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to laugh. In addition to her husband, Debra is survived by three children, Erica Beach and her husband Donald of Titusville, Donnie Tarr III and his wife Cortney of Titusville, and Amber Tarr and her fiancée Justin Crisman of Franklin; three grandchildren, Travis Edward Tarr, Tanner Paul Tarr, McKenzie Mae Tarr, and a fourth grandchild on the way; a brother, Harold T. Sterner of Titusville; three nephews, James Sterner of Lancaster, Thomas Sterner of Pleasantville, and Robert Sterner of Titusville; her step-mother, Veola Palmer of Frederick, MD; a step-sister, Dorothy Ahalt and husband Sonny of Frederick, MD; a step-brother, Tom Havener of San Diego, CA; step-uncles, Bob Showers and wife Grace of Titusville and Jim Showers of Cooperstown; and her pet dog “Coco”. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Ann Sterner. No public calling hours will be observed. Friends may attend a memorial service at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 28th. The family asks that memorials be made to the Crawford or Venango County Humane Society. FLOWERS
