Obituary of Genevieve A. Dowling
Mrs. Genevieve A. Dowling, 94, a resident of Southwoods Assisted Living Community in Titusville, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014.
Genevieve was born in Furgandus, PA on January 19, 1920 to the late Ernest E. and Viola Downey Vroman.
She graduated from Colestock High School in 1937. She married George D. Dowling on August 21, 1940 who preceded her in death on February 3, 1975.
Genevieve was co-owner of the former Lee Casual clothing store.
She was a member of St. Titus Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an original member of the Titusville Duplicate Bridge Group.
Genevieve is survived by her four children, Gail Farley and husband Harold Dennis of Naples, FL, Patrick Dowling and wife Sylvia of Pleasantville, Michael Dowling and wife Sandi of Titusville, and Gregory Dowling and wife Connie of Lancaster, OH; and the following grandchildren, John Farley, David Farley, Jeffery Farley and wife Kerri, Jennifer Dowling, Patrick Dowling II and wife Michele, Emily Dowling, Debra Dowling, Andrew Dowling, Lauren Dowling, and George Dowling; the following great grandchildren, Greta, Leo, and Oscar Farley, Dennis and Jack Farley, Nia, Mason, and Ireland Dowling, Adam Dowling, Alexis Wooten, Korey Ferrell, and Kayda McGarvie; two sisters, Virginia Dowling of Titusville and Shirley Peterson of Titusville; and a brother Hugh Vroman of McKean; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a brother Francis Vroman.
Friends may attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at St. Titus Church with Father Walter E. Packard pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville as celebrant.
Interment will be at St. Catharines Cemetery.
