Obituary of Joseph J. Spik

Joseph J. Spik, 62, of Titusville, passed away Sunday, July 27th at his residence following a brief illness. Joe was born on August 16, 1951 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Anthony and Irene Sweeney Spik. He was a graduate of Peabody High School in Pittsburgh. He was also a veteran having served in the US Army. Joe was a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 264 where he currently served as Loyal Knight. He was also a member of both the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion and the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW. He was a member of the Moose Club. Joe enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing, and playing pool. He is survived by his companion Lona Anderson of Titusville; two children, Brittnay Cannata and Joey Wasaiewicz Spik, both of Pittsburgh; a granddaughter, Makenzee Cannata; two sisters, Mary Samarin and husband David Boice of Allison Park, and Deborah Paulin of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Anthony P. Spik and wife Linda of Rialto, CA and Michael Spik and wife Anita of Pittsburgh; and numerous aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Fr. Walter E. Packard, pastor of the Titusville Catholic Community, officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by officers and members of the VFW and American Legion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the funeral home.
