Obituary of Sara Jane Mealy

Sara Jane Mealy, 73, of 106 Clinton St. North East, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Mealy was born on Sept. 3, 1936 at West Hickory, PA, a daughter of the late Reuben and Ila Kifer Anthony. She was married to William Mealy on Dec. 19, 1953 in Titusville. Jane enjoyed playing bingo and bird watching. She was an avid NASCAR fan. She is survived by her husband of North East; two sons, Darrell Mealy and his wife Stephanie “Tootie” of Titusville and Scott Mealy of North East; a granddaughter, Faith Servey of Polk; two great granddaughters, Jordin and Jayde Servey; a brother, R.J. Anthony and his wife Ann of Conneautville; four sisters, Dorothy Woodcock of Arbuckle, Betty Frawley of Waterford, Cloe Confer and her husband Donald of Pleasantville, and Luella Barnes of Titusville; three brothers-in-law, Richard Parker of Hydetown, Nelson Martin of Pleasantville and Wayne Kaness of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Reuben and Robert Anthony; and four sisters, Mary Murch, Caroline Martin, Beulah “Boots” Parker, and Barbara Kaness. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Monday at 11:00 AM with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to any Humane Society. FLOWERS
