Obituary of Mildred P. Coe

Mildred P. Coe, 91, of 157 Third St. Pleasantville, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday afternoon August 7th surrounded by her daughters. Mildred was born on June 15, 1923 at Grand Valley, PA, a daughter of the late Cyril and Lena Tubbs Paden. She was married to Vern M. Coe on Sept. 23, 1946 at Frostburg, MD. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2007. Mildred was a graduate of the Youngsville High School. She had been employed at the former Cytemp Specialty Steel Corp. in the metallurgical lab until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mildred also enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Strawbridge and husband Michael of Titusville, and Debra Steen and Nancy Morrison, both of Pleasantville; five grandchildren, Emily Hancock, Christopher Strawbridge, Lacy and Joel Steen, and John Andrew Holmer; six great grandchildren, Kylie and Colton Holmer, Matthew and Mason Strawbridge, and Kerington and Elizabeth Hancock; a brother, Glenn Paden of Claremont, CA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Joshua Steen; six brothers, Ralph, Richard, Arthur, Robert, James and Howard Paden; and six sisters, Anne Beers, Pauline Gregory, Alice Hopkins, Lena Reynolds, Beverly Frank, and Marjorie Bunce. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service there on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donald Russell, pastor of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Pleasantville Volunteer Fire Department 157 S. Main St. Pleasantville, PA 16341 or to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St. Titusville, PA 16354.
