Obituary of Gladys M. Heliker

Mrs. Gladys M. Heliker, 90, of 45766 Highway 27 Titusville, passed away Tuesday morning August 12th at her residence. Gladys was born on January 8, 1924 at Milford, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Gascho Stutzman. She was married to Lester E. Heliker on June 30, 1945. He preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 1990. Gladys enjoyed quilting, doing crafts, camping, traveling, gardening, bird watching, volunteering at the Toy Shop, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Littlefield and husband Donald of Tionesta and Rebecca Thompson and companion Gary Wilson of Hampton, VA; a daughter-in-law, Ellen Heliker of Titusville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; granddaughter-in-law, Tina Burrows Roberts of Waterford; a brother, Leonard Stutzman and wife Marilyn of Harbor Creek; a sister, Dorothy Troyer and husband Maynard of Corry; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard C. Heliker; a grandson, James R. Burrows; four brothers, Frank, Raymond, Clifford, and Walter Stutzman; three sisters, Stella and Mary Ann Stutzman, and Freda Ehrhart. Friends may attend the funeral service on Thursday at 1:00 PM at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville with Rev. William Hopkins officiating. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Spartansburg. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.
