Obituary of Robert L. Graham
Mr. Robert L. Graham, 82, of 845 Eldred Center Rd. Grand Valley, died Thursday, November 05, 2009 at his residence.
Mr. Graham was born on May 13, 1927 at Oil City, PA, a son of the late Alonzo and Alice Haines Graham. He was married to Phyllis Ann VanGuilder on April 26, 1952 at Grand Valley.
Mr. Graham was a graduate of the Youngsville High School. He was also a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy and Merchant Marines.
Mr. Graham had served as postmaster and barber at Grand Valley for 30 years until his retirement in 1987.
He was a life member of the Grand Valley United Methodist Church; a charter member of the Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Dept.; a board member at Wesley Woods; and community chairman of the Warren County Hot Stove Baseball League in Grand Valley.
He loved spending time with his grandchildren who could do no wrong in his eyes.
He is survived by his wife; four children, Robert L. Graham, Jr. and his wife Lori, David Lee Graham and his wife Romy, Karen Rex and her husband David, and Stanley Graham; several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters.
No public calling hours will be observed. Friends may attend the funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Grand Valley United Methodist Church with Rev. Ralph Culp, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Maultby Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Grand Valley Volunteer Fire Dept. or to the Grand Valley United Methodist Church.
