Obituary of Edwin F. Wolfkiel
Mr. Edwin Francis Wolfkiel, Sr., 84, of 17701 Rt. 27 Titusville, died Saturday August 23, 2014 at 11:05 AM at the Corry Manor in Corry, PA.
Edwin was born on February 28, 1930 in Titusville to the late Allan and Ruth Tobin Wolfkiel. He married Patricia Sterling in 1948; she preceded him in death in 1972. He married Betty Cherry in 1973; she preceded him in death on March 2, 2012.
He was a graduate of Titusville High School class of 1947.
Ed worked at United Refinery as a supervisor for company stations for 10 years. He then worked at Colonial Machine as a machinist until his retirement in 1991. Ed also owned various service garages in Titusville, Union City, and Grand Valley for over 30 years.
He enjoyed hunting turkey and deer and being outdoors. He also loved mowing and landscaping his yard.
Ed is survived by his three children, Scott Wolfkiel of Titusville, Sandra Hepler and husband Thomas of Hydetown and Judith Thompson and husband Richard of Titusville; four step sons, James Cherry of Grand Valley, William Cherry and wife Tina of Pleasantville, Michael Cherry and wife Debra of Grand Valley, and Donald Cherry and wife Bobbie Sue of Grand Valley; one sister Lois Shellenberger of Erie; one brother Allan Wolfkiel of Rice Lake, WI; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Edwin Wolfkiel, Jr., John Wolfkiel, and Ralph Wolfkiel; one brother Richard Wolfkiel.
At Ed’s request no public calling hours will be observed. A private memorial service will be conducted by the family at a later date.
Inurnment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
