Obituary of Allen L. Bryant
Allen L. Bryant, 87, of Mystic Park (Centerville), passed away Monday afternoon September 8, 2014 at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown.
Allen was born on April 17, 1927 in Titusville, a son of the late Leonard and Margaret Reynolds Bryant. He was married to Roberta Fife on July 31, 1954 at Erie, PA.
Allen had attended the Titusville schools. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He entered the service on Nov. 12, 1946 and was honorably discharged on Nov. 11, 1949.
He had been employed as a millwright at the former Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. from where he retired after 35 years of employment. He had also been employed at General Electric in Erie for 10 years, and at the former Titusville Iron Works.
He was a member of the Townville Baptist Church and in his earlier years enjoyed working with the church youth. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years who resides at Mystic Park; five sons, Theodore G. Bryant and wife Virginia of Centerville; Timothy A. Bryant and wife Linda of Williamsport, Frederick P. Bryant and wife Cindy of Mystic Park, Jeffrey L. Bryant and wife Christine of King George, VA, and Dennis L. Bryant and wife Carole of Columbus, OH; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Rita Ghering of Waterford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Donald and Theodore Bryant; and two sisters, Marjorie Grove and Jean Bryant.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Townville Baptist Church with Rev. James Riley, pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Townville Baptist Church Youth Group 33274 N. Main Street Townville, PA 16360.
