Obituary of Mary A. Northrop
Miss Mary A. Northrop, 85, of 617 W. Elm Street, Titusville, passed away at 2:00 AM on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mary was born on July 24, 1929 in Bradford, PA to the late Eugene and Elna Johnson Northrop.
She graduated from Bradford High School in 1947. She went on to earn her degree as a registered nurse from Honammann Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. Mary worked at Olean General Hospital in Olean, NY for twenty years before her retirement.
Mary was a Major in the US Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict stateside as a registered nurse.
Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Titusville and a member of the Titusville Lioness Club. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing cards with her friends, reading, doing puzzles, and gardening.
Mary is survived by her daughter Kelley Wolfkiel of Pleasantville; a granddaughter, Samantha Wolfkiel of Titusville; and a great grandson, Karter Oakes.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Brenda L. Jones, and Janet L. Speight; a sister, Sara J. Micheals; and four brothers, Charles Northrop, Francis Northrop, Eugene “Pete” Northrop, and James “Jimmy” Northrop.
No public calling hours will be observed.
Inurnment will be at Willow Dale Cemetery in Bradford, PA.
