Obituary of Priscilla L. Amboyer

Mrs. Priscilla L. Amboyer, 95, formerly of 518 Mailler St., Titusville passed away at 9:25 AM on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Southwoods Assisted Living Community. She had been a resident there for the past 3 years. Mrs. Amboyer was born on August 25, 1919, at LeContes Mills, Clearfield County, to the late Charles and Anna Myers Lawrence. She married Kenneth J. Amboyer on November 27, 1942, at Ashland, KY. Mr. Amboyer preceded her in death on January 13, 2000. She was a graduate of Meadville High School, class of 1937. Mrs. Amboyer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville. She enjoyed doing counter-cross stitching. Mrs. Amboyer is survived by her son, Kenneth Amboyer of Chicora; her daughter, Vivian Purvis and husband William of Fountain, NC; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marian Latshaw; six brothers, Clark Heist, Ed Heist, George Lawrence, Blair Lawrence, Joseph Lawrence, Charles Lawrence; and five sisters, Alice Cunningham, Marie Kress, Vivian Earnest, Marian Mance and Anna Hall. No calling hours will be observed. A private graveside service will be conducted for the family at Jamison Corners Cemetery with Mr. Thomas Newcombe, Assistant to the Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, PA 16354 or to the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354.
