Obituary of Jack R. Crocker
Mr. Jack R. Crocker, 78, of 15492 Tightpinch Rd., Pleasantville passed away Monday afternoon October 13th at his residence.
Mr. Crocker was born on July 16, 1936, in Titusville to the late William L. and Eva LuClaire Crocker. He married Carol Roush on July 17, 1973, at Aberdeen, MD.
He attended Titusville area schools.
Mr. Crocker was a veteran having served in the US Air Force. He entered the service on July 19, 1954 at Clark Air Base and was honorably discharged on June 6, 1961 in Colorado with the rank of Airman third class.
He was formerly employed by Cytemp Specialty Steel Corporation and was last employed as a pumper for 17 years with Quaker State in Pleasantville until his retirement in 1987.
Mr. Crocker was a member of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association, PNA, Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion and past member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.
Jack enjoyed the outdoors where he began in his early years trapping, hunting and fishing throughout the area. He also enjoyed traveling to Canada when he was in his 30’s and 40’s to fish. “Mr. Hoyle” as he was called by his children loved family poker night and also planting his vegetable and flower gardens.
He is survived by his wife Carol Crocker of Pleasantville; 4 children, Cinda Lingo and husband Butch of Pleasantville, Timothy L. Brown of Bear Lake, Lisa Gharing and husband Danny of Cooperstown, Michele Drake and husband Raymond of Pleasantville; 9 grandchildren, Lee Lingo stationed with the US Army in Afghanistan, Matthew Lingo and wife Ally of Oil City, Heather Brown and fiancé Jeff Rutter of Harrisburg, Trevor Brown of Harrisburg, Jacob Brown of Bear Lake, Jared Brown of Bear Lake, Casey Shuffstall and husband Charles of Cooperstown, Joshua Drake of Pleasantville, Katie Drake and companion Cody Bernarding of Pleasantville; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; 3 brothers, Donald Crocker and wife Eve of Titusville, Rod Crocker and wife Cheryl of AK, Curt Crocker and wife Sandy of CO; and a sister, Carla Tracey of Titusville.
Mr. Crocker was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William and Larry Crocker; and a sister, Betty Eakin.
No calling hours will be observed.
Friends may attend a memorial dinner at the Crocker residence 15492 Tightpinch Rd., Pleasantville on Thursday afternoon October 16th beginning at 1:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made PA Trappers Association Youth Field Days.
