Obituary of Nancy J. Kalkbrenner
Nancy J. Kalkbrenner, 82, of Centerville, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Nancy was born on June 22, 1932 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mildred Fosburg Robbins. She was married to Archie R. Kalkbrenner on Sept. 2, 1950 at Tryonville.
Nancy was a graduate of the former Townville High School, class of 1950. She had worked at Union City Boat Manufacturing for 5 years and also at the Crawford County Home in Saegertown as a nurse’s aide for 10 years. She was co-owner of Kalkbrenner’s Archery for 40 years, as well as clubhouse manager at Green Acres Golf Course for 40 years.
Nancy was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church. She had golfed in the Friday night Couples League and Wednesday night Ladies League at Green Acres. She was fortunate to have had a hole in one during her golfing days.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching the cooking channel, watching football with her husband, making family photo albums, and spending time with the children and their sports events.
She is survived by her husband of Centerville; two sons, Danny L. Kalkbrenner of Pleasantville and J.L. “Booie” Kalkbrenner and wife D. Lynn of Centerville; a daughter, Dianna “Sister” Walton of Centerville; five grandchildren, Roy, Ben, and Amelia Walton, Aaron Kalkbrenner and wife Andi Lynn, and Jeff Kalkbrenner; a twin sister, Mary Ann Dalessio, retired Major US Army of Centerville, three additional sisters, Beth Lingo of Centerville, Meta Frambaugh and husband Rodney of Seville, OH, and Eva Elliott of Townville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Robbins.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Centerville Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Kinnear officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Erie County Diabetes Association 1128 State St. Suite 302 Erie, PA 16501.
