Obituary of Terrance A. Rodgers
Mr. Terrance A. “Terry” Rodgers, 62, of 3268 Cherrytree Rd. Cooperstown, died Saturday morning October 9, 2010 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Terry was born on November 15, 1947 at Oil City, a son of Frances Bruno Rodgers and the late George Rodgers. He was married to Sally Neely on November 14, 1970 in Oil City.
Terry was a graduate of Venango Christian High School, class of 1965. He had worked at United Refining in Warren until his retirement in December of 2009. He had previously been employed at Continental Can Company in Oil City.
Terry was a former volunteer with both the Cherrytree and Cornplanter Volunteer Fire Departments. He loved spending time with his granddaughters. He also enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his mother of Oil City; his wife of Cooperstown; two sons, Timothy Allan Rodgers and his wife Karey of Oil City, and Trent Allan Rodgers and his wife Melanie of Seneca; two granddaughters, Amber Lynn and Kailynn Ann; six sisters, Stephanie Rodgers and Helen Jane Rodgers, both of Oil City, Anna Turco and her husband Carl of Erie, Carla Hodges and her husband Kevin of Oregon, Denise Hamilton and her husband Larry of Arizona, and Mary Frances Bechtel and her husband Elmer of North Carolina; a brother, Jon Rodgers and his wife Louise of Oil City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph H. Rodgers.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Chris Lewis, pastor of Bethany Crossroads Church in Ninevah.
Interment will be in Cherrytree Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity of one’s choice.
