Obituary of Dorothy G. Woodford
Mrs. Dorothy G. Woodford, 96, of Titusville, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Titusville.
Dorothy was born on December 8, 1917 in Worcester, Massachusetts to Frederick F. and Mary A. Donahue Fairfield.
She graduated from Melbourne High School in Melbourne, Florida in 1936. She was barber, and retired from being self-employed in 1979.
She married Mr. James H. Woodford on December 21, 1936 in Vero Beach, FL, who preceded her in death on October 12, 1978.
Dorothy was a member of St. Walburga Church, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, R.S.V.P., Spartansburg Grange, B.P.W., Titusville Senior Citizens, and VFW Ladies Auxiliary, where she was a lifetime member and former Chaplin.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jean Davis of Titusville; three granddaughters, Jenifer Dugan and husband Scott of Fayetteville, NC, LaDonne Howard and husband James of Deltona, FL, and Alicia Mayer and husband Brian of Wassila, AK; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; two sisters, Sr. Alicia Maria Fairfield, and Catherine Woodford; and four brothers, Robert Fairfield, David Fairfield, Sr., Frederick F. Fairfield III, and Wilson F. Fairfield.
Friends may call at the Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home, 203 E. Main Street, Titusville, PA 16354, on Friday, October 31, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon, with a mass of Christian burial held at 12:00 Noon at St. Walburga Church with Father Walter E. Packard pastor officiating.
