Obituary of Arleene M. Aversa
Mrs. Arleene M. Aversa, 91, formerly of Centerville passed away at 12:47 PM on Saturday, November 08, 2014, at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown. She had been a resident there for the past year and a half.
Mrs. Aversa was born on March 8, 1923, in Tidioute to the late Sherman and Myrtle Watson Bowles. She married Joseph A. Aversa on January 15, 1945 at St. Titus Church in Titusville. Mr. Aversa preceded her in death on July 3, 2000.
She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1942.
Mrs. Aversa was previously employed by the former G.C. Murphy Co. in Titusville.
She was a former member of the Immaculate Conception Church in (Mageetown) Centerville, a current member of St. Teresa’s Church in Union City and previously attended the Canadohta Lake Senior Center.
Mrs. Aversa is survived by six children, Raffaela Aversa and wife Michelle of Spartansburg, Concetta “Connie” Beers of Townville, Samuel Aversa of Hawthorne, FL, Joseph Aversa and wife Elaine of Greenville, Alex Aversa and wife Kathy of Centerville, Joleene Alderman and husband Eric of Centerville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, a sister, Marguerite Glavis of Chester; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Sylvia Matie, Charlotte Mallard, Grace Conklin, Dorothy Lockwood; and four brothers, Merle, Marshall, Francis and Floyd Bowles.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from Immaculate Conception Church on Friday at 11:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Suppa, pastor of St. Teresa’s Church in Union City, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Catharine’s Cemetery.
