Obituary of John J. Delp
Mr. John J. “Joe” Delp, Sr., 67, of 10996 Newland Ave. Titusville, died unexpectedly Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Titusville Area Hospital.
John was born on February 9, 1947 in Meadville to the late Harlan W. and Mary E. Knapp Delp. He married Nancy Kinney on May 21, 1966 at the Alliance Church in Titusville.
He attended Titusville Area Schools.
John owned and operated his own garage for many years before illness forced him to retirement.
He loved going to flea markets and auctions, and was always making deals. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years and he also loved going to his Florida home in the winter.
John his survived by his wife Nancy of 48 years; his four children, John Delp, Jr. and wife Denise of Titusville, Shon Delp and companion Danelle Blanchard of Titusville, April Delp of Titusville, and Amber Ruth and husband Cody of Titusville; 11 grandchildren, Nathan Delp ,Sheena Delp, Jacquelyn Conway, Ashley Munn and Husband Patrick, Brooke Delp, Connar Delp, Domanick Grazier, Devan Delp, Elyssa Blanchard, Paiden Delp, Behr Ruth; 12 great grandchildren Callie Delp, Olivia Delp, Kaleb Delp, Kailey Delp, Karleigh Delp, Jacionna Hill, Amarionna Hill, Tyzhon Bowser, Noah Munn, Skylar Hodak, Bentley Staub, Dayton Grazier; 8 brothers and sisters, Annetta McCurry and husband Dave of Oil City, Thomas Delp, Sr. of Canadohta Lake, Maxine Struchen of Titusville, Darlene Fike of Oil City, Kathy Fike of Oil City, Susan Edmiston of Oil City, Kenneth “Mike” Delp of Oil City, and David Delp of Oil City; a sister in law Candice Delp of Guys Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by 3 brothers Harold “Buck” Delp, Albert “Tub” Delp, and Charles “Bob” Delp; an infant sister and two infant brothers Leroy and James.
No public calling hours will be observed. The family will receive friends and celebrate John’s life on Tuesday, November 25 from 3-7 PM at the American Legion Post 368 in Titusville.
