Obituary of Rose E. Host
Mrs. Rose Eileen “Rosie” Host, 82, of 22635 Titusville Rd., Pleasantville passed away at 9:50 PM on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the Golden LivingCenter in Titusville following a long battle with Alzheimers.
Mrs. Host was born on May 11, 1932, in Lucinda to the late Frank and Ethelreda Schill Baker. She married Ira “Jim” Host on August 17, 1953, at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in Lucinda, class of 1950.
Mrs. Host was formerly employed by Knox Glass Co. of Parker, GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville, and Robinson Wallcoverings in Titusville.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Church in Tionesta and the Pleasantville Vol. Fire Dept. Auxiliary, where she worked at many dinners and charitable events.
Mrs. Host loved taking many fishing trips with her husband to Charlton, Ontario Canada and was proud to display a trophy Walleye at her home which she caught in Canada. She also enjoyed dancing, gardening, and spending several winters in Myrtle Beach, SC. Rose always had a smile and kind word for everyone.
She is survived by her husband Jim of Pleasantville; 2 sisters, JoAnn Lander and husband Francis of Oil City, Norma Jean Baker of Shippenville; 2 brothers, Frank Baker and wife Judy, Daniel Baker and wife Donna both of Lucinda; a sister-in-law, Dian Johnson of Pleasantville; a brother-in-law, Forest Host of Titusville; and several nieces, nephews great nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St., Titusville on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM from St. Anthony’s Church in Tionesta with Fr. Joseph Kalinowski as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lucinda.
