Obituary of Mabel L. Rumbaugh
Mrs. Mabel Louise Rumbaugh, 89, of Parker, South Dakota, formerly of Burrows Road, Pleasantville, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014.
Mabel was born in Kushequa, PA on December 21, 1924, to the late Thomas and Mary Downing Keeley. She married the late Harry Rumbaugh on May 31, 1945 in Titusville. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2007.
Mabel graduated from Mt. Jewett High School in 1943 and then from the Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing in 1951.
She was a nurse at the Titusville Area Hospital for 45 years until her retirement in 1990.
Mabel was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church and the Titusville Area Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed snowmobiling, taking care of her animals, and hanging out with the guys at hunting camp.
Mabel is survived by a son, Richard R. Rumbaugh of Pleasantville; a grandson, John D. Rumbaugh and wife Donna of Parker, SD; three great-grandchildren, Andy Hanson, Racheal Hangman, and Lexi McKenney; a brother, Thomas Kelley of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale E. Rumbaugh; two sisters, Evelyn Kunkle and Edna Copeland; and a brother, Minor Keeley.
A memorial service will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354, on Friday, December 5, at 11:00 AM with Rev. William Hopkins of the Church of Nazarene in Oil City officiating.
Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery Pleasantville.
