Obituary of Maysel E. Stewart
Mrs. Maysel E. Stewart, 98, passed away early Saturday morning December 27, 2014, at her son’s home in Titusville.
Mrs. Stewart was born on December 19, 1916 in West Homestead to the late David V. and Viola Jeffers Palmer. She married Chauncey Earl Stewart on June 15, 1940 in Wilkinsburg. Mr. Stewart preceded her in death on June 20, 1985.
She was a graduate of The University of Pittsburgh in Oakland.
Mrs. Stewart was a self-employed owner of Maysel’s Beauty Salon.
Maysel was a former member of the United Methodist Church of W. Palm Beach, FL and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Titusville.
She belonged to the Acacia Chapter #30 O.E.S. in Titusville, Ladies Aux. of B.P.O Elks Lodge, Women of the Moose both in FL, VFW Aux. in Lake Worth, FL., and the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Assoc.
Maysel is survived by two sons, Richard E. Stewart and wife Sonya of Alabama, Ronald Stewart and wife Donna of Titusville; a daughter, Rebecca Baron and husband Richard Dye of Florida; 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert O. Stewart; a grandson, Ethan Earl Stewart; 2 brothers, David V. Palmer, Jr. and John H. Palmer who died in infancy; and 3 sisters, Idella Graff, Ada Zemanik, and Alice Palmer who died in infancy.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville today (Monday) from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with the service to follow conducted by Mrs. Jacqueline Wager, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
