Obituary of James E. Glass

Mr. James E. Glass, Sr., 73, of Brook St., Titusville passed away at 5:52 PM on Friday, December 26, 2014, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie with his children by his side. Mr. Glass was born on March 13, 1941, in Oil City to the late John H. and Irene M. Harris Glass. He married Margaret Wilson on September 3, 1960. Mrs. Glass preceded him in death on September 17, 1999. He was a graduate of Oil City High School, class of 1960. Jim was formerly employed as a foreman for Electralloy for 20 years, Keystone Casting in Rouseville, Hard Construction, and with a security company prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Oil City Archery Club where he enjoyed shooting and was well known for his abilities as an archer. He also spent his spare time fly fishing, golfing, hunting, vegetable gardening, playing Texas Hold-EM, and rooting for his Steelers. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and praising God. Jim is survived by 6 children, Linda Glass and companion Daniel Winger of Oil City, Dorothy Struthers and husband George of Oil City, Wanda Glass of Oil City, Sandra Rossman and husband Gregg of Knox, James Glass Jr., and fiancé Stacey Exley of Titusville, Jamie O’Neill and husband Kevin of Emlenton; His fiancé, Bonnie Armstrong of Titusville; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and numerous brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Daly; and a great grandson. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with the service to follow conducted by Pastor Jim Moore of the Church of Christ, officiating. Friends are encouraged to wear their Pittsburgh Steelers colors to the funeral home. Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery.
