Obituary of Wayne M. Rodgers
Wayne M. Rodgers, 82, of Titusville, passed away Monday morning January 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Wayne was born on April 14, 1932 at Owlville, PA, a son of the late Ralph and Georgia Hartman Rodgers. He was married to Marlene Hartwig on June 5, 1954 in Titusville.
Wayne had been employed as a logger for many years at the Endeavor Lumber Company. He was previously employed at the Campbell Soup Company, the Pet Milk Company, and worked in the oil fields in Ohio.
He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and his cousin Butch. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren; playing the lottery; making homemade wine and sharing it; and spending time with his special friends.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of over 60 years; the following children, Ruby Britt and husband Rick of Oil City, Wayne “Mike” Rodgers of Titusville, Linda Rodgers and husband Bill of Ridgeville, SC, Beth Beers and husband Stub of Titusville, Jon Rodgers and wife Rose of Hydetown, Rita Jolly and husband Eugene of Holley, NY, Tonia McGarvie and husband Greg, and Donald “Donny” Rodgers, all of Centerville; the following grandchildren, Natasha Ruth and husband Dean of Montana, Robert Fielding and wife Amy of Illinois, Randy Fielding of South Carolina, Amanda Gilson and husband Wayne “Alan” of Titusville, Shawn Rodgers and wife Joann of Fauncetown, Amy Riley and husband Corey of Pleasantville, Robert Jolly and wife Tiffany of Holley, NY, William Jolly and fiancée Tiffany of Rochester, NY, Isaac Jolly and fiancée Clair of Holley, NY, Donald McGarvie and wife Lynn of Pleasantville, Trevis McGarvie and wife Jen of Titusville, Tim McGarvie of Centerville, Terra Rodgers and husband Dan of Enterprise, Tia Diegleman and husband John of Centerville, Jerod Rodgers and wife Brittany of Meadville, and Don Rodgers and wife Tracy of Titusville; 49 great grandchildren; four brothers, Bill Rodgers of Titusville, Richard Rodgers and wife Nancy of Centerville, Ronald “Bus” Rodgers and wife Mary of Monett, Missouri, and Warren Rodgers of Shawnee, OK; four sisters, Donna Shepard of Kansas, Karen Renninger of Titusville, Carol Bromley and husband Bill of Titusville, and Miranda Brooks and husband Paul of Athens, OH; numerous nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rashell Rodgers; two brothers, Charles and Jack Rodgers; and a sister, Eileen Crowther.
No public calling hours or funeral service will be conducted.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
