Obituary of Sara E. Patterson
Mrs. Sara E. “Sally” Patterson, 77, of Pleasantville, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville.
Mrs. Patterson was born in Youngstown, OH on March 27, 1937 to the late Roswell and Alleta Glenn Osborne.
She graduated from Oil City High School in 1955.
She married Irvin Patterson, a loving and caring husband, on May 5, 1956 in Oil City.
She was employed as a cafeteria worker in the Pleasantville Elementary School for four years before she worked at Pennbank in Pleasantville for fourteen years, retiring in 1986.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Pleasantville Women’s Club.
She was a talented knitter, enjoyed tending to her flower beds, doing puzzles, and especially loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by her husband of Pleasantville; a son, Randy Patterson and wife Bethany of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Susan Patterson Schwab of Medina, OH; a brother Jerome “Jerry” Osborne of Poland, OH; a sister in law, Charlene Osborne of New Wilmington; five grandchildren, Travis Schwab and wife Sarah of Columbus, OH, Tyler Schwab and wife Carrie of Burke, VA, Tiffany Schwab of Durham, NC, Alleta and Siri Patterson of Charlotte, NC; two great grandchildren, Lily and Jacob Schwab; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son in law, Fred Schwab.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, on Wednesday, February 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, and attend the funeral service on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Kinnear officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Pleasantville.
