Obituary of Debra Ann West

Mrs. Debra Ann West, 57, of Lake City passed away at 11:42 AM on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at UPMC Hamot following an automobile accident. Mrs. West was born on March 20, 1957 in Titusville to Ardelle “Dell” (Hanes) Hutchison and the late Donald D. Hutchison, Sr. She married her best friend James M. West on March 27, 1987, in Norfolk, VA, where it all started with a Christmas card. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1975, and the University of Pittsburgh in Titusville and Pittsburgh. She earned a degree in early childhood development. Debra was formerly employed by the Greater Erie County YMCA. She was instrumental in developing their after school and summer programs for children. She also taught at several pre-school facilities and with daycare programs for most of her working career. Mrs. West attended the Girard and Titusville First Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, making American Girl Doll clothes, camping, bowling, going to rummage sales, and buying and selling items on e-bay and Listia. Debra was extremely family oriented and loved to be with her grandson and making weekly trip to Titusville to be with her mother. She will be greatly missed by her husband, James M. West of Lake City; her mother, Ardelle “Dell” Hutchison of Titusville; her two daughters, Delly M. Bumbera and husband Jason of Meadville, Jenny L. West of Edinboro; a grandson, Micah Bumbera; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. West was preceded in death by three brothers, Thomas Hutchison who died in infancy, Donald Hutchison, Jr., Reginald Hutchison; and a sister, Beverly Ann Hutchison who also died in infancy. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
