Obituary of Ann Walsh
Ann Mary Farley Walsh, 77, of Los Angeles, CA, died January 31, 2015 at Emeritus at Casa Assisted Living at Glendale, CA.
Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 10, 1937 to the late George and Ann Murphy Farley.
Ann lived her youth in Titusville, PA. She graduated from St. Titus Grade School and Colestock High School, class of 1955. She was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, NY in 1959.
Ann married John Walsh on May 28, 1960 in Titusville, PA at St. Titus Church. She spent her career with Citibank/Citicorp as head of the Political Action Committee, assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, Walter Wriston, who she helped set up the New York City Financial Control Board and the Municipal Assistance Corporation, which helped to save New York City from bankruptcy. She finished her career as Sr. Vice President in private banking. She was also co-chairperson of the New York State Republican Party.
Ann retired in 2000 and lived in Naples, FL until 2013 when she moved to Los Angeles, CA to be with her daughter Sheila.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Sheila Wilcox and husband Clayton of Los Angeles, CA; a son, Philip Walsh of Los Angeles, CA; a grandson, Harry Wilcox of Los Angeles, CA; two brothers, George Farley and wife Ann of Tenafly, NJ, and Dennis Farley and wife Gail of Naples, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Daniel Farley.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, September 14, 2015 at St. Titus Church with Fr. Walter E. Packard as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
