Obituary of George C. McWilliams

Mr. George C. McWilliams, Jr., 78 of Hydetown passed away at 12:05 PM on Sunday, April 5, 2015 at his residence surrounded by family. Mr. McWilliams was born on March 26, 1937, in Tionesta to the late George C. and Gertrude Bigley McWilliams. He served two years in the United States Army. George was employed as an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 33 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member and Elder at the Church of Christ in Titusville. He also enjoyed doing building and grounds maintenance at the church. George was an avid fisherman and hunter. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Norma Harness McWilliams whom he married on May 21, 1994; 2 sons, Clay McWilliams and fiancé Tanya Brightman of Jamestown, NY, Darrell McWilliams and fiancé Kerrie Brown of Corry; 2 step-sons, Ronald Chrispen and wife Faith of Grottos, VA, Randall Chrispen and wife Tacy of Spearfish, SD; 3 step-daughters, Sheila Rogers and husband James of Ft. Poke, LA, Cheryl Bennett and husband Douglas of Verona, VA, Lisa Clifton and companion Michael Stump of Verona, VA; 18 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Gloria Swab of Warren, Viola Nichols and husband Dean of Garland; and several nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by a granddaughter; 2 brothers, Wayne McWilliams, Jim Mealey; and 3 sisters, Mary Katharine Robertson, Ethel Sheldon and Marion Kagel. Friends may call at the Church of Christ 221 W. Main St., Titusville on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the Church of Christ on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jim Moore, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with full military rites observed.
