Obituary of Lori K. Kemp

Mrs. Lori K. Kemp, 60, of Fairview Rd., Spartansburg passed away at 10:50 PM on Monday, April 6, 2015, at her residence. Mrs. Kemp was born on September 16, 1954 in Union City to the late Harold and Lillian Bacon Nichols. She married James D. Kemp on December 15, 1973 in Corry. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1972. Lori was formerly employed as a home health aide and as a manager for Angie’s Amish Furniture and the Dutch Treat in Spartansburg. She attended the Fellowship of Believers in Centerville, served as a Christian counselor, and was a member of the Association of Evangelical Churches. Lori enjoyed doing mission work, visiting people and friends, horseback riding, traveling, and being a counselor for young kids at camps. She is survived by her husband James Kemp of Spartansburg; 2 sons, James D. Kemp, Jr. and wife Jennifer of North East, Scott H. Kemp and wife Tricia of Columbus; 7 grandchildren, Aiden Kemp, Owen Kemp, Evan Kemp, Scott Kemp, Jr., Alexis Kemp, Madison Kemp, Tyler Kemp; 3 brothers, Willis Bacon, Kenneth Bacon and wife Ruth, Harold Bacon; 8 sisters, Shirley Stearns and husband Dave, Linda Wright and husband Lester, Carol Proper and husband Donald, Sharon Earls, Cynthia Conners and husband Robert, Gloria Proper, Susan Irwin, Tammy Colvin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Rometown Community Church 44364 Harrison Rd., Spartansburg on Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00 PM with service to follow conducted by Pastor Cathy Malstrom Mathos of the Fellowship of Believers, officiating. Inurnment will be in Beaverdam Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to your local food bank or charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Gordon B.
