Obituary of Russell Floyd Ames
Russell Floyd “Bud” Ames, 85, a resident at the Golden Living Center in Titusville and formerly of Central Towers and Enterprise, passed away at 11:30 PM Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Titusville Area Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Ames was born on May 21, 1929 to the late Mildred Kerr and Russell Floyd Ames, Sr. He was married to the former Eleanor Marie Hoban on Nov. 25, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 2, 1973.
Mr. Ames was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict. He entered the service on April 2, 1951 and was honorably discharged on March 8, 1957.
He had been self-employed for many years as a logger.
He enjoyed the outdoors and loved being able to walk in the woods and fish the creeks and brook streams in the area where he had grown up around Enterprise.
He is survived by two daughters, Sherry Sutara and husband Jim of Grand Valley, and Rhonda Kalkbrenner of Titusville; three granddaughters, Crystal Davenport and husband Kyle of Pleasantville, Lindsey Greer and husband Bill of Titusville, and Allison Sutara of Grand Valley; a grandson, Jordan Sutara of Grand Valley; and six great grandchildren, Parker, Peyton and Aubrey Davenport, and Trevor, Jenna and Brooklyn Greer.
Per his wishes, no calling hours or funeral service will be observed. A private memorial service will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
The family asks that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
