Obituary of Eva L. Carner
Ms. Eva L. Carner, 83, of Titusville, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Hamot Medical Center.
Eva was born in Oil City on November 23, 1931 to the late Milton and Bessie Moon Strain.
She was a graduate of Cranberry High School, class of 1949. She attended the Vo Tech in Meadville for the Nurses Aid Program.
Eva worked at the Titusville Hospital for over eighteen years as a nurse’s aide and a central sterile technician.
Eva was previously married to Mr. William R. Strawbridge on June 24, 1950, he preceded her in death on June 7, 1973. She married Mr. Lesley E. Carner on June 8, 1974 at the East Troy Community Church, he preceded her in death on February 6, 1995. She was also preceded in death by companion of eighteen years, Walter S. Wagner on April 16, 2013.
She was a member of St. Titus Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, traveling, and doing crafts.
Eva is survived by a son, Stephen Strawbridge of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a daughter, Laura Hart of Titusville; four grandchildren, Duster and Carrie Strawbridge of FL, Melissa Hart Taylor and husband Michael of Titusville, and Chad Hart and wife Andrea of Meadville; five great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madilyn, Malcolm, and Macallen Taylor, and Jocelyn Hart; a brother, Albert Strain and wife Mary Ann of Erie; a sister in law, Sherrill Strain of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Lee Strawbridge; infant daughter, Bessie Christine Strawbridge; a sister, Bonnie Jean Strain; and four brothers, Jack, Gordon, Lee, and William Strain.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354, on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM and the funeral mass on Monday at 10 AM at St. Titus Church with Father Walter E. Packard officiating, Pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville.
